Application Details
- MEMBER
Full membership is open to principals and employees of independent security consultancies only.
Membership is on an individual basis and does not apply to the business whether it is sole trader, partnership or limited company. Changes of employment or status are to be notified to The Board.
Current fees are:- £50 (non-refundable) on Application Fee, with £150 annual subscription.
Annual fees are due in April. Members accepted during the year may be eligible for part payment.
Member consultants qualify for an entry in the Register of Members, which is available to potential clients as well as other organisations and an entry on the web site. Other benefits include Professional Status; an ID Card; Certificate of Membership; ASC tie and lapel badge; use of the Association logo and use of MASC post nominal; circulation of ASC publications; the availability of informal advice and assistance as well as the chance to network with other, like minded, individuals; the opportunity to attend all ASC functions and voting rights at the Annual General Meeting.
Functions held throughout a year include Business Club meetings – free to full members; the annual international conference and exhibition known as CONSEC; the Annual Lunch and Presentation of the Imbert Awards, a keynote lunch to which VIP’s and opinion formers are invited; Dinner at the House of Lords and the Association AGM.
- ASSOCIATE
Associate status is considered to be any security practitioner employed to provide professional security advice including, for example, insurance surveyors, crime prevention officers and corporate security advisors. It Will also include applicants who are working towards meeting the core competences or qualifications for membership. All changes of employment are to be notified to the Board, which will consider the continued membership status.
Current fees are £50 (non-refundable) on application and £95 subscription per annum. Annual fees are due in April and persons accepted for membership during the year will be charged a proportion of the full fee dependent on which quarter they were accepted for membership.
Benefits include Certificate of Associate of the Association of Security Consultants; ASC tie and lapel badge; access to all meetings and circulation of ASC publications. Names and addresses of Associates are shown in a section at the rear of the Register.
- AFFILIATE
Affiliates are individuals working in or with an interest in security, not otherwise qualifying for membership.
Current fees are £50 (non-refundable) on application and £125 subscription per annum. Annual fees are due in April and persons accepted for membership during the year will be charged a proportion of the full fee dependent on which quarter they were accepted for membership.
Benefits include Certificate of Affiliate of the Association of Security Consultants; ASC tie and lapel badge; access to all meetings and circulation of ASC publications.
- STUDENT
Individuals registered on a recognised course of study, intending to pursue a career in security consulting.
Application fees are waived for students intending to pursue a career in security consulting and remaining on a recognised course of study.
Benefits include Certificate of Student of the Association of Security Consultants; ASC tie and lapel badge; access to all meetings and circulation of ASC publications. Names and addresses of Students are shown in a section at the rear of the Register.
