BUSINESS GROUP SEMINAR

Sponsored by GJD Manufacturing Ltd.

Wednesday 13th April

At Bury House, 33 Bury Street, St James's, London SW1Y 6AX

Association of Security Consultants' (ASC) members and guests attended a recent ASC seminar held in St. James's, London.   The quarterly meeting now has a different name; formerly known as the ASC Business 'Club', the meeting will now be known as the ASC Business 'Group'.

"Thinking Outside of the Box" was the catchy theme for the day which generated a capacity audience.  Sponsored by GJD Manufacturing Ltd., the proceedings were opened by ASC Chairman, Roy Sutherland, who extended a welcome to all and introduced David Haywood of Elmdene International Ltd. who gave a presentation on Power Supplies & Energy Efficiency.

Paul Phillips, Technical Officer from the BSIA then gave an overview of CP249 and the benefits of Open Interconnection Protocol.

Mark Rees from 360 Vision Technologies followed with the subject of Dual Imaging Technology and explored "Why not have the best of both worlds!".  360 Vision Technology design and manufacture a range of analogue and IP CCTV products.

Rapid deployment CCTV systems combating construction site theft, the cost to the Industry and an analysis against traditional methods were then covered by Colin Walters and Victoria Waude from RVR, the UTC owned BS8418 Monitoring Station.

Greg Stuttle from GJD Manufacturing Ltd. then provided a presentation entitled "External Detection The Next Generation, which covered BS8418 revisions and the way forward with digital detectors.  GJD Ltd. has for more than 30 years specialised in the design and manufacture of External Movement Detectors.

Greg Stuttle rounded off the formal presentations, with Roy Sutherland thanking all those who participated and attended, and especially GJD  Manufacturing Ltd. for sponsoring the seminar.  Roy then invited everyone to stay for drinks and a buffet luncheon which gave the audience and presenters an opportunity to network on an informal basis.

Roy also reminded the audience that the next ASC Business Group would be held on Thursday, 2nd June 2011, and that an exciting programme was being finalised for the ASC's 17th International showcase, CONSEC 2011, to be held on Thursday, 3rd November 2011, at the Royal Air Force Museum, Hendon.  He mentioned that there were only a few sponsorship spaces remaining for this prestigious event.
