NEW YEAR'S HONOURS LIST
THE LORD PETER IMBERT OF NEW ROMNEY, QPM, JP
_________________________________________________
One of the esteemed Patrons of the Association of Security Consultants (ASC), The Lord Peter Imbert of New Romney, QPM, JP, was appointed a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in the New Year's Honours List.
Lord Imbert is an active supporter of the ASC and recently chaired the Association's annual international conference, CONSEC. He was Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service from 1987 to 1993, and instituted a wide-ranging survey and research into the corporate identity, management and operating style of the Metropolitan Police. This resulted in an extensive change programme and saw the Met renamed from the "Metropolitan Police Force" to the "Metropolitan Police Service", the name retained to this day.
He was made a Life Peer as Baron Imbert of New Romney in the County of Kent in 1999 and is now Lord Lieutenant of Greater London.
The ASC is delighted that Lord Imbert has been recognised in the New Year's Honours List, and value his longstanding contribution to the Association.
