Crime cash haul 'nears £10m'May 8 2006

Cash seized from Scots criminals has hit almost £10 million, the country's top prosecutor has said.

Rolex watches and quad bikes are among the luxury goods confiscated by the courts since the introduction of the Proceeds of Crime Act in Scotland.

The legislation allows the authorities to seize cash and goods believed to be linked to illegal activity and put it back into crime-hit communities.
