Headline Summary
I am a former Detective Superintendent specialising in intelligence and Serious and Organised Crime investigation. I specialise in Intelligence Collection, Management, Analysis and Investigation. I also assist clients to build their own intelligence capability or can complete reviews of current structures.
Consulting Experience

An experienced senior leader within the security industry, with a career spanning over 30 years across the Private Sector, UK Military and Law Enforcement. I specialise in Intelligence, Analysis and Serious and Organised Crime and has served as Force Director of Intelligence and the National Lead for Intelligence in Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabularies (HMIC). Julie has commanded numerous intelligence operations utilising all available techniques and assets, understanding the importance of partnership working and stakeholder engagement.

 Threat Assessment

We deliver threat assessments to assist our clients in understanding the levels of threat that they are facing. The threat can be from a group, individual or geographical source, or it can stem from a particular problem.

We give our clients an accurate assessment that allows them to plan and resource effectively, ensuring the most cost effective and, importantly, proportionate response.

Our threat assessments and briefings have been utilised by the police as well as private companies to assist with decision making – particularly surrounding resourcing, to ensure that they have the right resources, in the right place and at the right time

Open Source Intelligence Research

Our highly skilled OSINT researchers are the experts in discovering intelligence, coming from a mixture of military, business and law enforcement backgrounds. They are experienced in all forms of OSINT and specialise in deep and dark web research.

All our research is captured to evidential standards, for use in civil and criminal proceedings where relevant. At b4Secure we believe that the most effective OSINT research is not about just relying on specialist software tools but is a fusion of skilled human research and evolving information technology.

We can help you with:

  • Threat intelligence
  • Checking senior internal staff vulnerability
  • Due diligence
  • Mergers or acquisitions
  • Employment tribunals
  • Asset recovery
  • Investigation
  • Litigation
  • Crime, Community profiling

Intelligence is integral to client decision making. We won’t provide you with a rolling log of information and data – we provide analytical assessments that answers the ‘so what?’.

Investigations

At b4Secure, we work with our clients to support numerous different enquiries including cases of fraud, bribery, corruption and other forms of corporate malfeasance.

Our team are skilled in multi-million pound fraud and corruption cases and are experienced in researching and analysing vast quantities of data, including communications data.

We support legal teams to assist in developing agreed investigative strategies and to obtain evidence. We have highly trusted, experienced partners to offer digital forensic services when required.

Our team are experienced in exhibiting and presenting in courts if this is required.

Research & Analysis

Our team is highly skilled in all aspects of research and analysis. Our staff work with you to address your needs and tailor our products accordingly. We use recognised structured analytical techniques incorporating intelligence from all sources including – communications data, human, open-source and financial data.

We clean and format the data so that it can be analysed and utilise innovative and established software to analyse and present your findings such as IBM i2 Analyst’s Notebook.

We will look at the whole picture, identifying information gaps, gleaning the facts, and also give you recommendations – enabling you to make informed decisions.

Our team has decades of experience working within law enforcement as well as the corporate sector. We have a fundamental understanding of the law, legal process, and the rules of evidence. All our products are produced to evidential standard ensuring litigation procedures are not compromised.

Our services have assisted in: identifying multi-million pound losses, understanding online vulnerabilities of High Net Worth Individuals and Board Members, completing due diligence checks for HR departments, discovering false claims in employment tribunals and insurance fraud and presenting and de-conflicting information in complex investigations.

Incident and Event Support

We provide intelligence support to live incidents and events – delivering relevant, responsive intelligence assessments and briefings to safeguard your organisation or event. Our briefings and assessments assist in decision making and resourcing.

During any incident or public order event, there will be a vast quantity of information promulgated via social media alongside briefings received by emergency services and other organisations; we take care of this for you – monitoring all intelligence feeds and cutting through the mass of noise, delivering assessed reports, allowing you to make informed and sound decisions.

Protective Intelligence Capability Building

We work with clients to deliver high quality, forward-thinking, actionable intelligence and analysis. This is applicable to business risk management decision-making, planning and crisis response.

We can also embed our researchers and analysts into corporate security and crisis management teams, assisting them to build their own capability. As an alternative, we offer our clients direct access to this integral service without the cost and challenges of permanent hire.

Data Analysis

Our innovative and investigative approach to data analysis has resulted in clients understanding where they are making revenue losses and has assisted in the recovery of millions of pounds.

Businesses have a multitude of data coming into their systems, this makes it difficult to understand which data will answer the questions that they are asking. Using software will not assist in identifying your data sources. Software and big data analytics are only as good as the data that you are feeding into these systems.

Using an investigative approach, we hunt for the data and importantly the sources that will supply the answers or, in some cases, discover where you have gaps in data collection. We have assisted clients by completing the analysis independently or in conjunction with their data science departments and audits.

We have uncovered trends to display customer behaviour and assisted in implementing ‘indicators and warnings’ into data collection that pro-actively alerts clients to changes.

  • How We Support with Data Analysis:
  • Litigation
  • Uncovering evidence of fraud
  • Companies wishing to examine their profit and loss
  • Customer revenue and credit risk
  • Understanding trends in customer behaviour
  • Examining resourcing and processes
